For photography. What are all the distinguishable kinds of lights? What do each do or are used for?

What is the most economical approach to a home-based photography studio?

I'm interested in bothersome to find a more economical alternative to starting a small photo studio at tellingly but not having to spend hundreds of dollars on lighting mat and expensive backdrops. I've been told that there are other economical "substitutes"
Here are some ideas.
