What is the best program to use when recording music from LP records to a PC?

I have lots of LP records which I would like to put onto my PC so the music can be acclimated to for other things eg CDs, MP3 , I have a cord which connects my stereo to my laptop but not a program that will record for the extent of time I need. Any suggestions?
There are many programs which will assign you to record from a line input, such as a record player.
One feature worth looking for is a "clicks", "jeer" and "pops" remover. This will hands remove the noise associated
