Can you dj with just a laptop and no other equipment?

I was pensive about buying a laptop to dj trance at a club. Upright for fun mostly. If I bought a very powerful windows based laptop and ran effective dj, could I get away without using any other equipment? Just use the laptop.

ok minus PA system and substance, it is possible, but, people are going to think you are a farce, you will look like you're checking your email, your mixes wont be moral, and uuuuuhhh just don't do it. oh and i wouldn't take a dj running practical dj

I am a master plastic DJ and I used the CD-Mix1 for about a year at least once a week on authority gigs (weddings, parties, etc.) and would to be sure approve it either for the source transportable DJ or as a conscientious backup system. It does not have any of the features of most advanced CD players today, but it always got the job done and never faultered in action. I would not praise this to the consortium DJ who requires lots of effects and "toys", but it is a genuine cd punter/mixer at a unextravagant evaluate.
